I got to Flagstaff about an hour and a half before sunset. I was just passing through... but I couldn't help but go to the Grand Canyon, even though I didn't have much time. I was *so close*, and I didn't know when I'd be back again! (I had no idea I'd be back with the love of my life in June 2004!) |

I really didn't expect all of these trees on the way to the Grand Canyon. I didn't expect any trees, in fact. I think I expected sand dunes, or maybe a red rock desert. Instead, I saw a landscape which looked very similar to Central Oregon -- a xeric forested landscape that continued right up to the canyon itself! |
